On Japan's Front- An excerpts to - My Research on Japan's Analog TV- Presented at Tokyo University..

Less than a year remains before the total switch to terrestial digital TV broadcast in Japan. Analog TV broadcasts are scheduled to end July 24, 2011. While preparations for the transitions are being pushed, many problems must be solved to ensure a smooth transition.

The National Association of Commercial Broadcaster in Japan says that by the end of the year 2010, 98.5 percent of the nation's household should be able to recieve digital TV broadcast waves. The price of popular 32 inch digital TV has dropped to around Y50,000. Government "eco-point subsidies" have helped boost digital TV sales. As of March, the accumulated shipment for digital TV's reached 73.74 million units and 83.8 percent Japan's households owned such TV's according to the Communications Ministry.

But among household with an annual income of less than Y2million, the ownership rate was only 67.5 percent. Free digital tuners- to be connected to analog TV's- are being distributed to as many 2.7 million households on welfare. Only 820,000 households, or about 30 percent of the households on welfare, applied to receive tuners by the end of June, 2010. The Ministry has had a difficulty identifying such households in need of the tuners.

Nor has there been progress in preparing community antenna facilities in the shadows of high buildings. About 6.5 million households are connected to some 60,000 such facilities. A similar situation exerts with antenna in mountainuous areas. Preparations have been completed at 77 percent of the 20.7 million households in housing complexes that are linked to 2.1 million facilities.

TV is an important infrastructure that provides information indispensable in people's daily lives. In time of disaster, access to TV is critical. A situation in which some households are unable to access vital broadcast information must be avoided. The government should consider postponing the transition deadline if necessary, although the TV industry opposes the idea because of the cost of continuing analog bradcasting.

Still on P-Noy.....

Aquino dispensation must realize that blaming the past government has a very definite, non-extendable shelf life. If for instance, a year has passed and Aquino once again pleads difficulty in delivering on the promises he made because of the mess he inherited, he cannot expect the same welcoming leniency from the Filipino people he received during his SONA.

And so we should allow Aquino to accuse his predecessor of the crime he says they have committed not only because doing so is historically correct, but also because the time has not come to judge him on the basis of his own acomplishments or the lack thereof. But before the new leaders get willed into complacency, they should realize that they now how to prove that they can uplift the counry from its current sorry state-and that if they fail to do so, they will soon no longer allowed to invoke the sins of the past.

The defeat of coruption and prosperity for all will not happen overnight, then the SONA will have served its purpose.

The Aquino administration must understand, the ball is now unquestionably in your court, to play as you see it. See that you don't drop it and add to the ever lengthening list of administrator that promised unreasonably big and abysmally little.

On P-Noy SONA

Truth to tell, "Corruption" and "Poverty Alleviation" are nice words and catchy but they have eluded solutions since time immemorial. Will there be a first time?
You be a judge.

Filipino people have yet to see or hear from their leaders their vision, action plans, pork barrel reforms, abolition of culture of extortion at all level of government but governance by example.

P-Noy should define , Where we are?, Where he wants to take us, How he propose to take us there.

We heard much of our sorry state in the here and now, but not enough details about where he wants to take us and how he would take us there.

I wish he had touched a bit for something good that the past president has accomplished.

But I don't remember past presidents saying good things about their predecessor either.

How about the reproductive health and sex education, Mr President..

So many things to suggests... but let's wait and see after two years on P-Noy's leadership and governance.

I pray for his success...and may God Bless our country ....

Ang Summer Classes ko sa Japan...

I wanted to thank God for the opportunity to teach during the summer classes at the Sanno Institute of Management - Tokyo, Japan.. It commences from July 10, 2010 to August 15, 2010.

This is the happiest day of my life since there are those people who don't believe that I graduated my MBA at this university..

Believe it or not, I am teaching the best students in Asia and Pacific.

Smile and praise God for all of the blessings.

Kids were all graduated from the university and have their own career.

Houses mortgages were paid and are renovated according to my design and convenience.

What more can I ask, but to thank God because He made my life victorious against my enemies.

I knew that sometimes I have my weaknesses, but God is merciful and forgiving and I always ask for His forgiveness and God easily forgives.

Now, I could stand with confidence but will remain humble and meek.

All I ask from HIM is good health, to be humble at all times and help other people who needs my help.
